The Reality of Construction
While there are regulations in place to prevent construction wastewater from being disposed of in the stormwater system, the practicality is that governing bodies have limited resources to enforce the guidelines. As a result, too many builders and contractors take shortcuts. This can vary from hosing down sites to dumping slurry directly into the stormwater systems to avoid surface detection.
Regulatory organizations aim to help the construction industry protect the environment by publishing best practice guidelines for clean-up techniques. Unfortunately, these guidelines can often be outdated, have flaws, or are difficult to implement on many sites. Our experience in the construction industry has shown that these guidelines are impractical and frequently ignored.
This is where SLURRYTUB comes in. This portable, cost-effective, easy-to-use solution is scalable for various job sites and presents a simple way to manage wet trade waste.
The construction industry contributes 25 - 40 % of the world's carbon emissions, polluting the air and water. Become part of the solution by using SLURRYTUB at your job site.
Environmental Impact
Water Savings
Using excessive amounts of water to hose harmful pollutants into the client's garden or down the drain is not a solution. For every biodegradable filter used, SLURRYTUB saves an estimated 54 litres of water. With nearly two million new builds occurring in North America each year, there is a significant amount of water that has the opportunity to be recycled.
Reduction of TSS
The filtered water that flows from SLURRYTUB is visibly clear. We have completed numerous laboratory tests of slurries before and after the SLURRYTUB filter process, with all of the samples showing Total Suspended Solids (TSS) of less than 50mg/l over time. Reducing TSS helps prevent the clogging of water bodies, improves water quality, and reduces the negative impacts on the stormwater system.
