About SLURRYTUB
SLURRYTUB was invented to address a recurring and difficult daily problem on many building sites – the wash-up and disposal of wet trade waste (slurry) by tradespeople. To tackle this issue, the idea was to develop a new, cost-effective and easy-to-use ‘best practice’ solution to significantly improve the environmental performance of building sites and overall stormwater quality.
The Big Problem
Wet trade slurry is generated daily on construction sites from the washing of cement, concrete, grouts, render, and sediment. Before the slurry sets, it is essential to clean all tools, including cutting machinery, mixers, wheelbarrows, and hand tools.
Unfortunately, setting up a ‘washout area’ for wet tradespeople on site can be impractical and often leads to taking shortcuts. This means the cement slurry may be dumped into gardens, lawns or even onto the streets and down stormwater drains.
This improper disposal of slurry harms the environment, leading to soil degradation, and can also contaminate stormwater drains and waterways. Such actions may result in fines imposed by regional and provincial environmental regulations, and they can also lead to dissatisfied clients who would otherwise be pleased with the work, directly impacting business.
The SLURRYTUB Solution
SLURRYTUB was created as a cost-effective solution to a significant problem in the building industry.
Designed for various trades, including bricklayers, tilers, and plumbers, SLURRYTUB saves clean-up time, improves job site safety, avoids penalties and fines, and improves company reputations, keeping clients satisfied.
SLURRYTUB prevents harmful materials from entering stormwater drains, responsibly disposing of heavy metals and contaminants that would otherwise be washed away. Eliminating the need to hose away slurry saves thousands to millions of litres of water each year and allows for the recycling of clean water on-site.
How SLURRYTUB Works
SLURRYTUB is an easy-to-use slurry disposal system that promotes best practices while ensuring efficiency on the job site.
1: Place Filter in Tub
2: Wash Up Tools & Pour Slurry
3: Allow Water to Filter in Washout Area
